PROTESTANT CHILDREN’S MINISTRY COORDINATOR 

Position Available

 

The Kadena Air Force Base chapel currently has a position available for a Protestant Children’s Ministry Coordinator. Statement of work with full specifications and qualifications along with bid documents can be obtained at the Office of the Wing Chaplain, Bldg. 425/, Kadena Air Force Base, Japan. Resumes and sealed bids are due to the Office of the Wing Chaplain by 12:00 p.m. on 7 June 2012. Qualified applicants will be notified of specific interview date and time. Basis of award is on the lowest bid and/or best value to the government. Background investigations may be conducted upon contract award.

 

Applicants must meet the following requirement to qualify:

 

- Have a strong desire for the Christian religious training of children ages six months through fifth grade.

- Show a genuine concern for health, safety, and well-being of children in the ministry program.

- Have experience, either paid or volunteer, in a church/chapel children’s religious education program.

- Possess strong communication and administration skills.

- The following is highly preferred: a member of Kadena Chapel and an active volunteer in a Protestant   program. Demonstrate familiarity with the Protestant faith and practice.

- Hold current Red Cross certifications in First Aid and CPR or willing to attain them.

- Shall provide references with:

* Record of successful recruitment skills for children’s ministry volunteers.

* Record of successful performance in a chapel/church children’s ministry.

* Capability to use computers to include Microsoft Office programs (I.E. PowerPoint, Word, etc.).

* Capability to speak, read, and write fluent English.

Amazing Wonders in Aviation - VBS 2012

Kadena Chapel Vacation Bible School 2012 -- Encountering God's Awesome Power.  Psalm 147:5

Registration for the Vacation Bible School (VBS) has begun.  Children entering Kindergarten through 5th Grade are eligible to participate.  Registrations are available at the entrance of the chapel or online by accessing the 'VBS' link.   

Date:  20-24 August 2012

Time: 0900-1330

Location: Chapel 3

Family Resiliency Event

On June 2, 2012, Dr. Robert J. Wicks, author of Bounce: Living the Resilient Life, will be speaking at the Family Resiliency Event. A child program will be provided at the event . TOTUS TUUS !!! (Latin for Totally Yours)

Kids and teens, for the first time we are bringing Totus Tuus (which means “Totally Yours”) to Japan. Totus Tuus is a summer catechetical youth program inspired by Pope John Paul II.  A special team of instructors from the states will be here to teach the Catholic faith through fun activities.  The grade school program (grades 1-6) runs Monday-Friday 9:00am- 2:30pm.  The day includes catechetical instructions, daily Mass, songs, and games.  The junior and senior high school program runs Sunday-Thursday 7:30pm-9:30pm.  Totus Tuus is a week long program from 17 to 22 June at Chapel 1.  Space is limited and registration is required.  For more information, please access the 'TOTUS TUUS' link in the 'Catholic' section.
